NACBA is the only national organization dedicated to serving the needs of consumer bankruptcy attorneys and protecting the rights of consumer debtors in bankruptcy. I have been a proud member for many years. The NACBA website is full of valuable information for both attorney and any consumer researching bankruptcy.

The www.uscourts.gov website provides general information about federal bankruptcy laws and the bankruptcy process. Bankruptcy Basics is a publication of the Bankruptcy Judges Division of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. It provides basic information to debtors, creditors, court personnel, the media, and the general public on different aspects of federal bankruptcy laws. It also provides individuals who may be considering bankruptcy with a basic explanation of the different chapters under which a bankruptcy case may be filed and answers some of the most commonly asked questions about the bankruptcy process.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has a lot of resource material relating to consumer protection. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 (Dodd-Frank Act) established the consumer bureau. In January of 2012, President Obama appointed Rich Cordray to be the first Director of the CFPB.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) website contains the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) details and a host of other resource materials. The FTC is the nation’s consumer protection agency. The FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection works For The Consumer to prevent fraud, deception, and unfair business practices in the marketplace. The Bureau enhances consumer confidence by enforcing federal laws that protect consumers; empowers consumers with free information to help them exercise their rights and spot and avoid fraud and deception; and wants to hear from consumers who want to get information or file a complaint about fraud or identity theft.

The (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) FDIC website has a host of information pertaining to the Credit Reporting Agencies, mortgage and loan modifications, and other helpful consumer information.

We have nothing but praise for the Coxwell Attorneys! They were a comfort in a time of stress. They explained our options and once we decided our path, they guided us through each step (explaining and re-assuring us along the way). We highly recommend Coxwell Attorneys! Thad & Janet Brumfield
